Whilst The advisers can work remotely from you, i.e. using emails, telephone and post, they very much prefer to meet their clients face to face. Meetings can take place at your home, at their offices, your place of work, or any other suitable venue. The first meeting usually takes about an hour, when you can tell them in confidence your financial goals, needs or fears, and they will prioritise these with you. This meeting is free of charge, and you are under no obligation to follow it up.

Please be as open and honest as you can, because the more information you provide the better, and more accurate, the adviser can be with his or her recommendations.

If you do decide to follow-up the intial meeting, they will analyse your situation, your needs and priorities, and prepare a written report or plan of action for you. They will discuss this report with you in a follow-up meeting and explain their recomendations to you in detail. They will always make sure you understand the ideas, plans and contracts they propose to help you acheive your objectives.

The cost of their advice and services depends on various factors, and not just the length of time they spend with you. The charges can be structured in several ways to suit you. Some clients prefer a fee-based approach or a retainer basis, while others prefer them to receive commission.

Either way, LJ Financial Planning will always offer you the choice, and they will explain their charges with you in an open and transparent manner.

*Note: Tax planning is not regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
